The Network Austin Mixer - History/Core Group

A member of SAG/AFTRA since 1990, Doran W. Ingrham has been a hardcore supporter of the Texas film industry since returning to the USA in 2004. After asking everyone in Austin where the networking mixers were... and finding out there was not one... Doran started The Network Austin Mixer. His goal is to give actors, agents, crew members, producers, directors and writers a venue similar to those found in Los Angeles and New York. The venue? To meet others of like interest and expand their knowledge of and exposure to the entertainment industry.

Gary L. Wimmer spent most of his adult life touring the USA as a musician and working as a psychic. In 1993 he moved to Copenhagen, Denmark and toured throughout Northern Europe, performing in clubs, concerts, and on cruise ships. During this period Gary also began writing. Upon his return to Austin in 2000, he studied acting and screenwriting, and became involved in the film community as an actor, a crew member, and a reader for the Austin Film Festival. Gary met Doran on a movie set in 2004 and joined him in moving the Network Austin Mixer forward.

Donise L. Hardy (CSA) began her casting career in San Francisco, established her company in Los Angeles for 6 years, then moved to Austin in 1999 where she continues to enjoy working in the Texas market. One of the busiest casting directors in the state, she has cast hundreds of commercials, dozens of films and industrials during her 18 year career and has taught classes, specializing in commercial audition technique. Donise sold her company in July, 2007, is now the owner A CASTING PLACE and continues to offer Texas Casting At Its Best! SEE: www.acastingplace.net

The new Texas Film Incentive Program is now in place, thanks to the tireless efforts of Texas Film Commission Director Bob Hudgins - http://www.governor.state.tx.us/film, TX State Rep Dawnna Dukes - http://www.house.state.tx.us/members/dist46/dukes.php, TXMPA and thousands of people across the state. But there is still work to be done, so join TXMPA and get involved. That's how things get done in politics. Thank you.
